Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will be headlining the Download pilot event at Donington Park alongside Enter Shikari and Bullet For My Valentine.
The 3 day full camping festival will take place in June as part of the government’s research trial to find a method to allow the safe return of live events later this summer.
The headliners are joined on the lineup by the likes of Sleep Token, Holding Absence, While She Sleeps, Twin Atlantic, Skindred and many more.
Tickets go on general sale on Thursday the 3rd of June with a pre-sale on Tuesday the 1st for those with a ticket to next year’s main event.

It was a sad day when we received the news earlier this year that Download festival would be cancelled for a second year running. It felt like we may have to wait an age before we would be able to make the pilgrimage back to the hallowed turf of Donington park. Well, it seems that 10,000 lucky people won’t have to wait too long as Download have announced the ‘Download Pilot’ festival.
But what does this entail? How can you attend? Who will be on the lineup?
What Is The Download Pilot?
The Download pilot will be a 10,000 capacity, 3 day music festival (with camping) to be held from the 18th – 20th of June at Donington Park.
The event will be part of the second phase of the government’s event research programme to trial the safe return of live music events.
Moshing Is Permitted
Everyone attending will need to take a covid test before the event and to provide proof of their negative test result (a text or email from the NHS) upon entry. They will also be requested to take a second test 5 days after the event to help with the research. This allows there to be no need for masks or social distancing so you can mosh to your hearts content.
Who Is On The Lineup?
The lineup is to be announced this Friday (28th) at midday but we shouldn’t expect the big name headliners that usually grace the main stage. Frank Carter, Enter Shikari, Architects, While She Sleeps and Don Broco are amongst the names currently tipped as potential headliners but we don’t have long to find out for certain.
How Can I Get Tickets?
Tickets will go on general sale on Thursday the 3rd of June but if you already have tickets for next year’s main event, then you will have special access to pre-sale tickets on Tuesday 1st of June.
